Staub Cast Iron Pumpkin Cocotte, 3.5 qt, White
This answers a question the rest of the guide does not ask: what if you do not want a dupe at all, but you also do not want another round Le Creuset. Staub is Le Creuset's actual French rival, and the pumpkin cocotte is its most collected shape - a softly lobed pot with a stainless knob that reads as a centrepiece before anything goes in it. The black matte interior is the real difference: rougher than Le Creuset's sand enamel, so it browns harder and does not stain the way a cream interior does after a winter of tomato and turmeric. At 3.5 quarts it feeds three or four, the honest size for most weeknight braises. Rated 4.7 stars from just under 500 reviews when we checked in September 2026.
Let's buy this →Good to know: It costs Le Creuset money, so it is not a dupe in any sense - and 3.5 quarts is genuinely small. No-knead bread and a whole chicken both want a 5.5-quart round instead. The lobed sides are also slower to wash than a smooth pot.
